Mariya graduated from McMaster University with a double major in Honours Psychology and Economics.
During her final years of research, she focused on cannabinoid therapeutics and the positive externalities that follow cannabis decriminalization and legalization. Evenings & weekends, she worked for a strategic fundraising firm that raised $60K in donations for MAC scholarships, bursaries, and research.
After graduation, Mariya was a board advisor for Stewards of Cootes Paradise, a nonprofit organization which promotes the biodiversity of watershed systems in Hamilton. Professionally, Mariya has three years of account management experience working for the leading Canadian technology solutions provider and Cannabis Compliance Inc. CCI is a global consulting firm with subject matter expertise in the regulated consumer products industry. As the Client Manager, she is responsible for connecting cannabis entrepreneurs with advisors specializing in cultivation, security, facility design, quality assurance, regulatory licensing, and business planning. She intends on completing her Cannabis Industry Specialization certificate with Durham College by the end of 2019.
